While we still don't have a federal AI law (and likely wont in the next administration), 2024 was the continuation of the trend we have seen in privacy: states are enacting their own sometimes similar, but different laws. At the same time, we have seen the attempted application of old laws on this new technology. This panel will discuss some of the key state laws addressing the use of AI, where they overlap and where they diverge, and practical steps for compliance across jurisdictions and for staying out to the courtroom.
