2022 The Patent Office Comes to California: Tips and Strategies for Winning at the PTAB
Kathy Vidal was sworn in as the Director of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office in April 2022. In her initial months at the USPTO, she has adopted an approach called “interim before final” where the agency accelerates change and communications by adopting interim processes and procedures while it works to finalize. These interim procedures are already affecting practice before the PTAB as well as the PTAB’s inner workings. This experienced panel of in-house counsel, outside counsel, and PTAB judges will discuss recent developments at the PTAB, how they should affect your strategic considerations in bringing and defending against challenges at the PTAB, and how stakeholders can make their voices heard in the PTAB’s final policies and procedures.
