California’s 30x30 Initiative; 2023 Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite®
California has committed to the goal of conserving 30 percent of its lands and coastal waters by 2030. The California Natural Resources Agency is tasked with coordinating the execution of 30x30 with other State agencies and stakeholders through a series of actions, including the development of a document called the Pathways to 30x30. The Draft Pathways to 30x30 strategy was released on December 15, 2021. This panel will provide an overview of the draft document and the impacts that the state’s conservation goals will have on private companies and non-profit organizations that are critical to reaching this ambitious target.
