CEQA/Land Use "The Cannabis Effect: The Impacts on California Agriculture"; 2020 Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite
The passage of Proposition 64 and other changes in the law have resulted in a fast-growing new specialty agricultural crop and a plethora of new regulations for the cultivation of cannabis. Cannabis is impacting conventional agriculture in many ways, including potentially changing the regulatory approach to long standing agricultural water and pesticide use. This panel will discuss how heavy regulation of cannabis may be leading to stricter regulation of conventional agriculture, and how conflicts between conventional agriculture and cannabis are playing out in the field.
