This presentation will discuss chapters 6, 7 & 8 of the AMA Guides, the Digestive System, Urinary & Reproductive System and Skin Disorders chapters. Digestive System topics will include the Upper Digestive Tract, Colon & Rectum & Hernias.Urinary & Reproductive System topics will include the Upper Urinary Tract, Bladder and Male Reproductive System.Skin Disorder topics will include Disfigurement, Scars and Skin Grafts, Dermatitis and Skin Cancer. Specific attention will focus on commonly used impairment classes and their corresponding criteria. A review of questionable and controversial rating methods and recommendations for addressing these issues via cross-examination will be covered. Emphasis on examples from the Guides to support or refute a rating will also be covered. Whether attorney, physician, claims examiner or lay person you can gain an increased understanding of the Guides. Since knowledge is power, the more you understand about the Guides the better you can use them for your benefit.
