This discussion will cover Chapters 10, 14 and 15 of the AMA Guides. Chapter 10 will focus primarily on diabetes mellitus while Chapter 14 will cover the Mental and Behavioral Disorders and the criteria for rating psychiatric disorders using the GAF scale.
This presentation will address why there are two methods provided in Chapter 15 for rating spinal injuries, when to choose one or the other, and how each method operates. We will also discuss the criteria required to diagnose radiculopathy, how to rate corticospinal (spinal cord) injuries, and various Almaraz/Guzman spinal ratings authorized by the WCAB.
Whether attorney, physician, claims examiner or lay person you can gain an increased understanding of the Guides. Since knowledge is power, the more you understand about the Guides the better you can use them for your benefit.
