Living Out Loud Through Social Media—Ethical Challenges for Attorneys
Lawyer marketing through social media is expected as attorneys work to build relationships, enhance their brand, and stay relevant in the legal community. Engaging with “hot topics” on platforms like LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), and Facebook can significantly boost your professional reputation. However, ethical issues related to client confidentiality, candor to the court, contact with the court and jurors, trial publicity, communication about the attorney’s services, advertising, and soliciting potential clients must be considered.
