An Overview of the Patent Pro Bono Program and of Professional Responsibility and Practice Before the USPTO
Intellectual Property Section; Patent Interest Group
The Office of Enrollment and Discipline (“OED”) will discuss the Patent Pro Bono Program as well as professional responsibility and practice before the USPTO. The Patent Pro Bono Program endeavors to assist financially under-resourced independent inventors and small businesses by matching them with volunteer practitioners to prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications. With respect to professional responsibility and practice before the USPTO, topics will include a summary of the types of disciplinary matters before OED and a review of decisions pertaining to professional responsibility.
