One of the most difficult (and necessary) tasks facing an applicant’s attorney in workers’ compensation practice is achieving the joinder of the Uninsured Employers’ Benefits Trust Fund (also known as UEBTF or UEF) in a case where the attorney’s client is unlucky enough to work for an uninsured employer.  This webinar will focus on one simple question often asked by applicant’s attorneys:  How do I get the judge to grant my UEBTF joinder petition?  We will focus on the fundamental issue of perfecting jurisdiction over the employer, which is another way of saying that the employer can no longer go to court and deny their knowledge of the WCAB case against them. We will explain the importance of the three most important questions facing the petitioner: 1) Who is the defendant?; 2) Who is the defendant? and 3) Who is the defendant?

We will review sample joinder petitions and point out the most common pitfalls and problems that lead to that dreaded order denying petition.   Hopefully, after this webinar, the participant’s UEF joinder petition batting average will comfortably exceed that of a major league All-Star!
