This program focuses on California’s expanded ban on non-compete agreements in two recently enacted laws – SB 699 and AB 1076 – which became effective on January 1, 2024.

Among other things, the new laws create substantial additional remedies for enforcing California’s general ban on non-compete agreements, and require companies to issue individualized written notices where applicable by February 14, 2024.   Companies should expeditiously review their Proprietary Information and Inventions Assignment Agreements (PIIAAs) and other agreements and policies to confirm compliance with these new laws and that the company’s proprietary IP and trade secrets are well protected. After this webinar, attendees should have a good understanding of the evolution of California’s general non-compete ban, the substantial additional obligations and remedies that the new laws impose, and related IP / trade secret considerations. The key audience for this webinar would be business law attorneys and IP attorneys looking to learn more about California non-competition issues.
