Anyone who has prosecutes patent applications before the European Patent Office (EPO) knows that what works at the USPTO does not necessarily ensure success at the EPO. European patent attorneys, Tom Leonard and Mark Abthorpe, will provide tips and tricks on dealing with issues and challenges unique to practice before the EPO, including among other things, overcoming added subject matter rejections, loss (or rather retention) of priority, avoiding self-collision, and avoiding double patenting issues.
