Shannon Bales, Manager of Litigation Support
Shannon Bales is an expert in trial technology, legal technology, and electronic discovery. He is the author of The Trial Presentation Companion, which is a 400-page comprehensive manual on electronic evidence published by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. Shannon works in litigation support at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, and serves on the California Lawyers Association Law Practice Management and Technology (LPMT) Section Executive Committee. He has delivered eDiscovery training for the White House Executive Office and has been an advisor on litigation support technology and investigations for the United Nations War Crimes litigation in Cambodia and Rwanda. Shannon is an Adjunct Professor at UCLA on Trial Technology and Fact Analysis tools, and was recognized in 2020 as an ILTA Distinguished Peer Nominee.
Alicia Aquino, Moderator
Alicia Aquino is an NCRA accredited Trial Technology Consultant and a member of the American Society of Trial Consultants. As a seasoned veteran in the legal industry, she provides a comprehensive suite of trial support services to help legal teams prepare for and succeed at trial, whether it is in-person or remotely. Alicia is well-versed in legal project management, jury research, mock trials, graphics, and presentation of evidence.
Her passion to help others is demonstrated through her work, empowering women, fostered youth, and the LGBTQ+ community. Alicia is a community leader and very active within San Diego County; she currently serves as President of the Tom Homann LGBTQ Law Association Foundation Board, is a founding advisory board member of the Online Courtroom Project and committee member of the ABA Women of Legal Tech Summit. She also sits on various committees with the Lawyers Club of San Diego and Women in e-Discovery, San Diego Chapter.
