In this compelling presentation, participants will learn prevention and detection competencies pertaining to drugs of abuse. Moreover, attendees will learn about the harmful effects of substance use and abuse, with special emphasis on THC use, in the legal profession. Mr. Dorst will explain why attorneys are vulnerable and how the structure and demands of the legal profession put each of us at special risk. For those working in this demanding, high-stakes profession, awareness of these risks is essential. Law firms, bar associations, and lawyer assistance programs and nonprofit corporations such as the Other Bar, may play an increasingly important role in educating attorneys about cannabis and other substance use, promoting early intervention, and supporting the well-being of those struggling with these issues.

Participants will receive 1.0 hour of general participatory Competence-Prevention and Detection MCLE credit for this presentation.
