U.S. Children’s and Students’ Privacy: COPPA, FERPA, and (Even) the CCPA
This webinar will outline the requirements and interactions of three primary laws that protect children’s and students’ privacy in the United States: the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, and the California Consumer Privacy Protection Act. The webinar will discuss each law’s requirements for businesses, highlight their differences, and note other laws such as the California Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA) that may affect businesses operating in these spaces. It will conclude with an “issue spotting” exercise to demonstrate issues in complying with each law.
