The EU Digital Services Act: Where We’re At, and Where We’re Headed
Intellectual Property Law Section; Technology, Internet and Privacy Interest Group
The EU Digital Services Act is the EU’s most ambitious reform package for intermediary liability and obligations to date. The European Union has adopted a modern legal framework whose scope includes the safety of users online, the establishment of governance with the protection of fundamental rights, and the maintenance of a fair and open online platform environment. We will discuss its scope of application, the numerous new obligations it sets out, its liability threshold, and the new regime of oversight and enforcement it establishes.
