Introduction to IP & Cannabis Law
Intellectual Property Law Section, Cannabis Interest Group
This introductory webinar will provide an overview of how the four basic intellectual property tools (trademarks, copyrights, patents, & trade secrets) are being deployed by the legal cannabis industry in the U.S. (with a focus on California businesses and entrepreneurs). Time permitting, this webinar will also address some related IP licensing and litigation issues. This webinar is intended to provide a foundation for a number of future webinars that will delve into each of the main subject areas in greater detail.
David Branfman and Elizabeth J. Rest are Chair and Vice-Chair, respectively, of the recently-formed Cannabis Interest Group of the IP Law Section and have both served on the Executive Committee of the IP Law Section for many years. David and Elizabeth both have been providing guidance about trademark law and other IP matters to the legal cannabis community in California for a number of years
