This panel will discuss income tax consequences associated with the acquisition and disposition of businesses conducted in partnership form. The panel will focus on general rules that apply for both federal and California income tax purposes, and will also discuss significant differences between federal and California treatment, including concerns under the recently enacted federal partnership audit rules.
