Anne Paoletti Brodbecker, Partner, Société d’Assistance Juridique aux Entreprises in Marseille, member of the Marseille Bar’s ADR and International Sections, Mediator with an advance degree in the Law and Practice of Mediation (2014, Institute of Business Law, AMU) and a certification as mediator via the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Marseille-Provence (2005), member of the Board of Directors of “Marseille Mediation”. Anne, French, has been practicing in Marseille for over 31 years, first as in-house counsel for ONET SA, a group of engineering and services companies, then as a business lawyer handling principally commercial contracts, consortiums, partnerships, corporations, mergers & acquisitions for French and foreign companies (mainly eastern Europe, Italy, UK, Japan), intellectual property, GPDR and litigation.
Kazuhiko Nishihara
Kazuhiko Nishihara is a lawyer admitted in Japan and New York State. His practice includes litigation, ADR, international transaction, employment law, corporate, M&A, and domestic and international inheritance law. He is a founder and managing partner of Honmachi International Law Office, P.C. He is an accredited mediator of the Center for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), a listed mediator of the Mediation Center Osaka, and a specialist mediator of the Singapore International Mediation Center (SIMC). He is Secretary General of Japan International Mediation Center in Kyoto (JIMC-Kyoto), the first international mediation center in Japan. He is active in many organizations and his position includes Vice Chair of the International Committee and the Attorney Ethics Committee of the Osaka Bar Association, Deputy Secretary General of Japan Association of Arbitrators (JAA), and Secretary of the Kinki Branch of Japan CSR Association, and a member of Hawaii Tax Institute Advisory Committee. He graduated from Kyoto University, Faculty of Law (JD) and Graduate School of Law (LLM), and Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law (LLM). He served as a member of the Student Secretariat of the Alumni Association of Kyoto University, Faculty of Law.
William Peterson
William Peterson, Partner, Ringle, Roy & Associés in Marseille, Co-Chair of the Marseille Bar’s International Section and member of the International Law Section of CLA (Bar of California), Arbitrator with chambers in Paris, Vienna and Barcelona, Mediator (certified via the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Marseille-Provence (2005), Co-Chair/ Lecturer of the International Litigation Programme at the Institute of Business Law at Aix-Marseille University (AMU) which encompasses preparation for the Vis International Arbitration Moot. Jeffery Daar is a principal of the law firm Daar & Newman in Los Angeles. He has more than 25 years of extensive experience in international litigation and arbitration disputes. Jeff is also an active arbitrator.
His diverse expertise includes strategic planning, international transactions and disputes, complex state and federal litigation, and innovative dispute resolution. While Jeff is a United States trained lawyer, he has close working relationships with lawyers throughout the world and in particular in Europe, Latin America and Asia. This permits him to assemble international legal teams for innovative global solutions to business disputes and transactions.
Jeff is the immediate past Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee of the California Lawyers Association, an officer of California Arbitration, and a Past Chair of both The State Bar of California International Law Section and the International Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Three different Mayors of the City of Los Angeles have appointed Jeff as a Los Angeles City Commissioner. He is currently President of the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission, has served on the Board of Airport Commissioners for the Los Angeles World Airports, and was Chairperson of the Los Angeles Rent Adjustment Commission for 10 years.
